Sharing recipes from AgriMissouri members, my family and some of my own creations has been so much fun over the past couple years. I love the comments and it's so rewarding to hear when someone actually tries one of the recipes! This is my last Friday Fixin's. I am leaving the Missouri Department of Agriculture. I will cherish the friends and colleagues I have worked with here as well as the opportunity to share weekly recipes and information about AgriMissouri members with all the blog readers. Do not worry, the weekly Friday Fixin's will still continue, Jana Haley, marketing intern, is going be bringing you some of her favorite recipes.
I had a very hard time trying to figure out what recipe to share as my final post. I decided to go with the spirit of Halloween and do something fun. Below is a recipe I saw in Quilting Celebrations of all places.
This is a fun recipe for a Halloween party and you can include some of your local berries that you froze from this summer. Enjoy!
Bug Juice Punch
2-10 oz packages frozen strawberries, thawed (hopefully you've got some Missouri berries in the freezer)
1-6 oz can lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 quart ginger ale, divided
2 cups raisins
1 cup blueberries and/or blackberries
10-12 gummy worms
Mix the strawberries and lemonade concentrate in a blender until smooth and thick. Gradually add ginger ale. Transfer the beverage to a punch bowl. Stir in remaining ginger ale and the raisins. Place the gummy worms on the rim of the bowl and float the berries to complete this bubbly brew. Makes about 10 servings.
