The 2011 Missouri State Fair is hosting Bluegrass Day Wed., August 17 on the fairgrounds in Sedalia. The Show-Me Bluegrass Festival is an all day celebration of traditional bluegrass music and a celebration of Missouri’s heritage. Fifteen bands will be playing throughout the fairgrounds. And at 4:00 that Wednesday, fairgoers will have the opportunity to join Missouri’s best bluegrass pickers for a Jam Session at the Show-Me Tent on the fairgrounds. During the Jam Session, both professional and amateur musicians are invited to pick their banjos and fiddles with the bands. All fairgoers are encouraged to visit and to enjoy some of Missouri's finest bluegrass music.
Bluegrass Day wraps up with a concert by Missouri's own Rhonda Vincent with her band The Rage in the Pepsi Grandstand. Tickets are available through the State Fair Box Office and Ticketmaster. Visit MOStateFair.com for more details!
