The 2012 Missouri State Fair officially began this morning in Sedalia. Our team is working hard, from the AgriMissouri team highlighting Missouri-made treats in the Agriculture Building to visiting with farm families and ensuring that all attendees have a great time. Thank you to everyone who supports our farmers and farm families! Sparky, the Missouri State Fair Fire Station mascot, shows his support for firefighters and his agricultural pride while helping set up for the Opening Day Ceremony for the 110th Missouri State Fair.
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon entered the Fair this morning through Centennial Gate, with First Lady Georgeanne Nixon. In this shot, Governor Nixon accepts an official Missouri State Fair program from Fair Commissioner Lowell Mohler. Governor Nixon and First Lady Nixon then joined the Missouri State Fair Commissioners in greeting fairgoers at the main gate and handing out "I'm a Fan of Agriculture" fans, sponsored by AgriMissouri.
