A lot of talk and focus has been given to overall smaller cattle herds and tighter supplies of cattle across the US. However, the other factor which has been somewhat over shadowed is demand; specifically foreign demand for US Beef. The USDA report released earlier week is projecting 2012 exports to come in at 2.478 billion pounds. That is slightly below last year’s numbers but still one of the highest totals in recent memory.
