Some packaged spinach sold in Missouri, including at Kroger and Gerbes stores, has been recalled as a result of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Recalled packages include 10-ounce bags of Fresh Selections Tender Spinach with a "best if used by date" of last Sunday, Sept. 16.
The grocery store chain has removed the recalled products from stores, and consumers who purchased the products should discard any remaining spinach or return the products to their point of purchase.
