This week’s supply was moderate to heavy with steers out numbering heifers by a larger than typical percentage. Another notable in the supply was the number of steers over 600 lbs which few really expected to see any time this fall. Producer’s moods did get a boost upward as rain was forecasted and began to arrive late week when the remnants of Hurricane Isaac approached. Even with the possibility of heavy rain, farmers are ready to welcome as much or little as they can get. The general consensus is that even if it comes faster or heavier it could soak in the ground and ponds have plenty of room to hold any run off.
